Noë & Associates have been appointed creative directors of Surface Magazine, the American voice of global contemporary design. Tasked with rebranding the 20 year old publication, Noë started with a new masthead and cover design. The editorial sections have been reinterpreted and the structural grid rebuilt to allow for more white space and flexibility of images. Fashion has been taken to a new arena, stripping the section of models and introducing still—life photography. New section breaks add chapters to the book and a tonal wash over the front of book and feature sections pace the issue’s flow of information. New brand collateral and bespoke services as Surface Magazine’s creative partner round out Noë‘s rebranding partnership.
